Vision
The Devout Improver was started as a means to explore the pursuit of self-actualization. It is intended to serve as a tangible medium in which to weigh, evaluate, compare, and openly cross-examine ideas presented from a variety of fields and thinkers, placing emphasis on evidence based practices and the successes of others.
Beliefs
Improvement in life is a deeply personal pursuit. It is because of this that I aspire to present the readers with a wide-range of ideas and strategies on how to achieve their aspirations and overcome their current circumstances, whatever they may be.
Ideas are dynamic in nature and are subject to the test of time and the cultures in which they are implemented. Nevertheless, it is evident that certain strategies and approaches emerge over and over again. It is my goal to help uncover these and to make them accessible to the reader.
Author
Mark Wolter:
I am a husband of eleven years and a father of four children. I grew up in the professional world and worked alongside my father at his investment firm for the majority of my professional career. Around my thirty-first birthday I became disenfranchised with my current life path and set out to change it for the better. I decided to return to school and to pursue a career in psychiatry/neuroscience—a field which I have been fascinated with since high school.
